Last year I volunteered my time and talent to photograph an event for Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, www.blhs.org/home.asp. They've asked me to volunteer again this year, but I can't because the event falls on the same evening as the Wedding Workshop. The woman in charge has asked me to pass along the opportunity to other photographers who might be interested, so here's the details. The event is Bethesda's second annual Golden Gala coming up on Saturday, March 7th in the Miller Room of Coast Restaurant in Milwaukee. It goes from 5:30 to 11:30, but you don't have to stay for the whole night. It's very much like a wedding reception - dinner, dancing, speeches, etc. They just need basic photos of the event - details and such - and candid photos of people giving speeches and enjoying themselves. They give you complimentary admission, which means you get a great dinner, and they include your name on their website and all promo materials, as well as recognition anytime the photos are published. It's a great opportunity for someone who would like some real experience shooting an event, and it's helping out a good cause. It's also a good networking opportunity. If you're interested, contact Katey Higgins here: khiggins@blhs.org Thanks!
