We have a few suggestions for the forum: First, it should be suggested that display names be photographer names or studio names. It should be required that posts be signed with the name of the poster. It is really hard to have an open and honest conversation when you do not know who you are talking to, and without knowing who is posting, people will be more guarded. Second, we think there are too many sub-categories. When people do not know where to post, or there are too many places to post, it dilutes the content. Shortening the list to 5 or 6 sections would be more manageable. You can always add sections back in later if the need arises. Likely, most of the conversation would fall into two or three categories, anyway. When this goes more public, will there still be the ability to see all posts without registering? Public threads are great to get people interested, but a section that only registered photographers can access might be helpful. This private section may be nice if photographers need to talk about and get advice on sensitive client issues. No one would want a client to wonder on to a post about themselves.... Hi Becky and Chris Thank you for joining the forum as a Moderator. We would like to get more feedback from members regarding not only the number of subject Boards, but current categories. We've tried to keep the number to a minimum and organize things according to what will be publicly viewable and what is "very soon" going to be limited only to members. Everything under the Member Discussion heading will soon become only accessible to forum members. Though, we will have our Public Photography heading available to all, the main focus of this forum is to provide a platform for professionals to communicate and share information privately with other members. As members, everyones suggestions are welcome and encouraged on this matter. Please let the forum staff know what you think! With regards to displaying photographer or studio names with posts. I think it is a good idea, and needs to be considered in conjunction with general guidelines of conduct for all members using the forum. Most guidelines should be obvious and really not need stating, but we should have something in writing for new members when they join, and to refer to in the event of problems. Our staff of Moderators will come up with the forum guidelines and review them as necessary. If you are interested in being a Moderator, we are still looking for volunteers to take part. Thank you.
